SUMMARY:39th Annual Holiday Hunger Appeal
DESCRIPTION:The Holiday Hunger Appeal is the Food Bank’s largest and most public fundraising event. This appeal runs from mid-November through Christmas Eve. A display is set up at Crossgates Mall where volunteers ask shoppers to make a donation to the Food Bank. \nMany businesses and organizations serve as Matching Day Sponsors\, matching collections in the mall on designated days and providing all or some of the day’s volunteers. Other groups take up collections or participate in special activities to raise funds and donate the proceeds to the Appeal. DESCRIPTION:We are excited to partner with the Town of Colonie\, the South Colonie High School ICARE Team\, and the Colonie Youth Advisory Board for “Kicking Out Hunger\,” a kickball tournament to be held on Saturday\, April 29 from 10AM to 5PM. This brand new tournament will be held at Colonie Mohawk River Park on the Latham Lassies Fields. All proceeds benefit the Food Bank. \nThe Colonie Youth Advisory Board will provide middle school and high school teams. We are looking for adult teams to participate. Adult teams of ten players cost $250\, and games will run from 10AM-12PM.
