Create your own food drive, personal care products drive or fundraiser, or donate food as an individual

Thank you for your interest in supporting the Regional Food Bank. In addition to gratefully accepting direct monetary donations, we offer several ways businesses and individuals can create their own fundraisers and food and product drives. And if you are interested in giving food directly to the Food Bank, we offer guidelines for how to do that too!

Please note, fundraisers and food/personal care drives must be registered and approved in advance by the Regional Food Bank, and individual donations must meet our guidelines. See below to register your event and get more info.

Requirements for individual donations

The Regional Food Bank does accept food and personal care donations from individuals. Here are the guidelines.

  • All donated food must have an ingredient label per The Fair Packaging and Labeling Act, which prohibits the distribution of any food item without a label (except produce).
  • Food items with cosmetic damage can be donated. However, the interior packaging MUST be sealed.
  • Food items past the sell-by date by up to 4 months are acceptable to donate and safe to consume.
  • If canned food items have dents on the top or bottom seam, the contents are no longer food-safe due to the risk of air leaking into the can.
Please do not donate these cans. Dents in the side of a can are ok.
  • It is OK if packages of adult or baby diapers and paper products have been opened, so long as the remaining contents are clean and in good condition.
  • Oral care items like toothbrushes or floss MUST be sealed.
  • If donating baby formula, there can be no damage to the packaging and MUST be donated before the expiration date.
