With the winter months upon us, many people will be confronted with difficult choices such as paying for food and paying for utilities or heating fuel. More than 49 million Americans are food insecure; meaning they lack consistent access to enough food at some point during the year.

Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York, a member of Feeding America, has been serving upstate NY for over 27 years, helping nearly 200,000 individuals every year.

Among all client households served by Feeding America, 41.5 percent have had to choose between paying for food and paying for utilities or heating fuel. In addition, 30.8 percent of client households with seniors had to choose between buying food and paying for utilities or heating fuel.

With widespread community support, we are working to make sure that those in need are made aware of the help available to them, both through federal programs, and agencies that provide emergency food assistance.

Together, we can provide hope to hungry Americans. Learn how you can make a difference!
