In May 2023, the Regional Food Bank leadership adopted a transformative five-year strategic plan to ensure equitable food access across our diverse 23-county service area. This plan outlines 12 key initiatives, including a major expansion in the Hudson Valley, modernization of warehouse and inventory management, increased food sourcing from local farmers and retailers, and workforce development to address the persistent high demand for food assistance.

The remarkable progress we’ve made over the past two years would not have been possible without the generous support of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation. Their significant grants—$1 million in 2023 and $890,000 in 2024—have directly fueled the implementation of this ambitious plan.

Thanks to Mother Cabrini’s support, we have expanded access to nutritious, culturally relevant food in underserved communities. We’ve strengthened community engagement, deepened partnerships to better serve areas of need, and increased direct food distribution in regions where local partners cannot fully meet demand. With their investment, we are not just feeding neighbors—we are building a stronger, more resilient food system for all.
