Memo re COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

We value you, our volunteers. Your work is critical in getting healthy food out to vulnerable populations, and your wellbeing is important to us. If you feel sick, please stay home to reduce the risk of spreading illness. If you need to cancel a volunteer shift, please contact our Volunteer Coordinators at We have taken precautions to help ensure staff and volunteers stay safe during their shifts.

Update August 2: Beginning today, August 2, 2021, the Regional Food Bank will adopt the CDC’s guidelines. CDC recommends that people wear a mask in public indoor settings if they are in an area of substantial or high transmission regardless of vaccination status. To that end, the Food Bank will be requiring all volunteers to wear masks.

Throughout the pandemic, the Food Bank has relied on and followed CDC guidelines and will be doing the same with regard to this change.

Group Volunteer Opportunities

We welcome businesses, schools, community organizations, and others to volunteer with us! While typically we can accommodate groups of up to 30 volunteers, due to COVID-19, we are currently only accepting groups of 10-20 people (based on volunteer location) to ensure everyone’s safety. We offer shifts at our warehouses in Latham as well as at the Patroon Land Farm in Voorheesville!

Interested in getting a group together? Fill our the group request form below, specifying your group’s availability and location preference. A volunteer coordinator will contact you directly to set up your group volunteer shift.
