Many businesses contribute generously to the Food Bank’s work. In this Hunger’s Hope edition, we highlight two great corporate supporters – Capital District Area Labor Federation and Walmart
Capital District Area Labor Federation (CDALF) has supported the Regional Food Bank for nearly a decade. Their participation began with a simple food drive and rapidly expanded during the pandemic. Most notably, CDALF members volunteered at hundreds of drive-thru pantries over the course of two years, helping us and partner agencies like Catholic Charities safely distribute food boxes to neighbors in need. They also send large groups of volunteers on a regular basis to assist with sorting food and hold fundraisers to support our work. Most recently, more than 30 schools, trade unions, and labor unions supported the Food Bank with a month-long food drive that culminated in a delivery of a tractor-trailer filled with food. We are incredibly grateful for the friendship we have developed with Capital District Area Labor Federation, and we thank them for everything they do to support our work.
Walmart has been a tremendous partner to the Food Bank for more than 25 years. Walmart supports our fundraising events with sponsorship and auction items that help us raise additional revenue. Each year, Walmart stores hold a multi-faceted fundraising campaign in their stores called “Fight Hunger. Spark Change.” that raises an incredible amount of money and awareness to help our work. The Walmart team is dedicated to the Food Bank’s mission, having provided valuable leadership throughout the years on fundraising committees and our Board of Directors. On top of that, Walmart is a valued partner in our Retail Store Donation Program and regularly sends us truckloads of food and other important necessities from their local Distribution Centers and Reclamation Centers. Walmart associates also volunteer each year, which earns us financial donations for every hour of service. We thank Walmart and its employees for their dedication to the Food Bank and the people we serve.
